The work of the Grand Théodore Ballu seems all too often to the realization of Trinity church of La Trinité (Paris) and the transformation of the Hôtel de Ville to be reduced of Paris City Hall. Even if this works both accounted for a large part of his career, so they obscure but his broad oeuvre that manifests itself in a variety of public buildings, mostly of a religious nature, and private buildings.

The big prize of Rome

Approved by the École des Beaux -Arts in 1835, Ballu was a student of Louis -Hippolyte Lebas, the architect of Notre -Dame-de -Lorette. At the age of only 24 years in 1840, he received the Grand Prix de Rome. So the young winners left Paris for Rome to become boarders of the " Académie française a Rome ".
