Therblig

Therbligs is the name of a set of basic movement types for description and assessment of Physical activities that are necessary for a worker to perform a task. They are considered as first basis of the system of predetermined times.

The word therblig is a reversal of the word Gilbreth, if the " th" is seen as a letter. It was the creation of Frank Bunker Gilbreth and Lillian Moller Gilbreth, the U.S. business consultants who worked in the field of time and motion studies.

The set consists of 18 elements, each of which is a transaction ( "category of motion" ) describes. Almost all human movements can be traced back to this after the Gilbreth 18 elements. Each therblig that does not serve the work progress can be eliminated by Gilbreth.
