Thessaloniki International Trade Fair

The International Fair of Thessaloniki ( Διεθνής Έκθεση Θεσσαλονίκης ΔΕΘ, Thessaloniki International Fair TIF ) is a Fall Fair in Thessaloniki with a focus on consumer goods, capital goods, construction equipment, electrical household appliances. At the same time it is also the managing company of the fairgrounds in Thessaloniki.

History

The company is a subsidiary of HELEXPO and was founded in 1925. Since 1926, the International Exhibition will be held in Thessaloniki and will be opened by the Prime Minister since the 1960s. At the exhibition of 1957 in Greece very popular café frappé was invented. Due to many special measuring their importance has declined, but it is still the country's largest trade show.

Facilities

The fairgrounds has a built area of 180,000 m². On the exhibition grounds are also the OTE TV Tower and the Palais des Sports. Recently a future relocation of the fair was decided. The parent company also operates HELEXPO another, smaller exhibition center in Athens.
