Thiago Neves
Thiago Neves Augusto (born 27 February 1985 in Curitiba, Brazil ) is a Brazilian footballer.
Career
The attacking midfielder started his career as a professional football player in Paraná Clube in Curitiba. The 2006 season he spent on loan in Japan Vegalta Sendai, before he was in 2007, initially committed on loan from Fluminense and there had his breakthrough. In June of that year he won after a 1-0 victory in the final leg of the Brazilian Cup in Florianópolis against Figueirense FC its first title. The first leg at home in Maracanã Stadium ended 1-1. End of the year he was with the Bola de Ouro award as the best player of the championship season, graduated at the Fluminense with the 4th Place.
With Fluminense he was in the final of the Copa Libertadores in 2008, scoring seven goals in the tournament, four of them in the finals against LDU from the Ecuadorian capital Quito. After a 2:4 in the first leg score after 90 minutes in the second leg before 86,000 spectators 3:1. Fluminense lost the subsequent penalty shootout, in which the opposing goalkeeper Neves income remained, with 1:3.
On 26 March 2008 Neves made his debut in the Brazilian national football team, when he came off the bench in a game against Sweden. In August 2008, he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games. He came in five games for use, scoring two goals.
On 30 August 2008, he moved for an estimated 7.5 million euros to Hamburg, where he signed a contract until 2013. With his reservist status there unhappy, Neves wished during the winter break of 2008/ 09 a change of club, which led him by lending for half a year back to club Fluminense. Shortly afterwards, the Saudi club Al- Hilal announced the commitment of Neves from July 2009 for four years.
On January 13, 2011 Neves was loaned for a year at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro. With the club he won after a final victory on penalties to CR Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro state championship and finished fourth in the national championship.
In June 2011, he came in a friendly against Romania to his second in the national team. He was part of the squad for the Copa America then, when he did not come to train.
In mid-January 2012, he joined after a long tug of war with Flamengo for Fluminense FC. As a transfer fee to Al -Hilal 15 million Réis be reported ( 6.56 million euros ). With Fluminense he won the state championship in Rio and the Brazilian Championship in the same year.
