The Technify Motors GmbH is an aircraft engine manufacturer based in St. Egidien. Technify emerged from the Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH. This was one of the pioneers in the development of diesel-powered piston engines for light aircraft, which would otherwise normally operated with AvGas or Mogas gasoline engines are used.

In 1999 the company Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH was founded and incorporated in the Thielert Group. The GmbH is the development of diesel aircraft engines has prescribed. Bankruptcy and a fresh start

Cessna planned its type aircraft Skyhawk 172S from mid-2008 with the turbo diesel engine Thielert Centurion 2.0 extradite. Following the bankruptcy Cessna had decided to stop this project for the time being. Due to the low weight of the Thielert Centurion engine in drone construction is used, for example, in the General Atomics MQ -1B Predator.
The subsidiary Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH applied for on April 24, 2008, the opening of insolvency proceedings in respect of threatened insolvency. On April 30, 2008, the bankruptcy petition of the parent company followed.
At times, the stock was listed on the SDAX, but is killed in the course of insolvency from the index. From IPO to insolvency the shares lost more than 95 % of their value.
An offer period for Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH was set up to August 22, 2008. The administrator Bruno Kübler informed that potential buyers have been found for the insolvent company, which examined the books of Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH. In January 2009, the trustee filed back in the black and a full utilization of production.
June 2013 it was announced that the Chinese state-owned AVIC, who had taken over the U.S. aircraft engine manufacturer Continental and the aircraft manufacturer Cirrus, also Thielert Aircraft Engines assumes with sites in Lichtenstein, Altenburg and Hamburg. Thielert is incorporated as Technify Motors GmbH in the group structure of Continental.
