Thierry Repentin

Thierry Repentin ( born April 5, 1963 in Saint -Jean -de- la- Porte, Savoie département ) is a French politician. Since March 19, 2013 he is Assistant Minister for European Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of Prime Minister Jean -Marc Ayrault.

Life

Thierry Repentin studied in Chambery and at the Institut d' études politiques Grenoble. His professional career began in 1988 in the European Commission. In 1989, he joined as office manager of the then mayor Louis Besson in the city administration Chambery. After Besson 1997 Assistant Minister for housing in the cabinet Lionel Jospin, was followed Thierry Repentin him as a consultant in the Office of the Minister. From 2001 to 2004 he was Chairman of the Association of Municipalities of Greater Chambery.

Thierry Repentin is married and has two daughters.

Political offices

Since 1998, Thierry Repentin is a member of the General Council of the department of Savoie of the Canton Chambery Nord. From 2004-2012 he was one of two senators of the department in the French Senate.

In June 2012, he was Minister with responsibility for training and education in the Ministry of Labour, employment, vocational training and social dialogue. In March 2013 he moved to the post of Minister for Europe after the current incumbent Bernard Cazeneuve was appointed Associate Minister for the Budget in the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
