Thijs Waterink

Thijs Waterink ( born December 26, 1968) is a former Dutch football player.

Career

In 1998 he moved from FC Den Bosch at that second division side FC Gütersloh. There, the defender completed 28 games and scored three goals. After the descent, he moved to Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld, where he came 21 times used. After just one year he went to the Regional to KSC, with which he ascended. For this club, he was still two seasons in the second division and active in 57 games, scoring one goal. In 2003 he finally moved to the Regionalliga SC Paderborn.

Involvement in the betting scandal

In April 2005 Waterink is blocked by the DFB until the end of the season. He had a deal with the betting mafia that he would in case of victory in led by Robert Hoyzer Cup final cash against HSV. He then played three years in the Netherlands at VV De Bataven and then ended his career.
