Background

On 26 August 2009 Channel 4 was known to have the four -part television drama This Is England '86 given in order. The mini-series was written by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne. Meadows said:

The series takes place during the Football World Cup 1986 in Mexico, Chris de Burgh was number one on the music charts, and in the UK there were 3.4 million unemployed. On January 6, 2010 Meadows wrote on his website that the project will be called This Is England '86. Milky was alive, Woody has a factory job and wants to marry Lol. This is the first time that Meadows occupies a female lead. The series focuses on Lol, while the supporting cast from the old gear exist.
