This Is It (concerts)

The tour This Is It was planned as the comeback tour of pop star Michael Jackson, but was canceled due to the sudden death of Jackson.

Background

In early 2009 signed Michael Jackson signed a contract in which it was determined that Jackson occurs for 10 concerts in the O ₂ Arena London. Since all tickets were sold out for the 10 shows in a matter of minutes and the ticket demand was still large, they chose 40 more concerts, which also sold out all yourself. A total of tickets were sold over 1 million.

Rehearse

Jackson was rehearsing for the time being in the Forum arena in Inglewood, California. But as it needed more space for the large and elaborate stage, the samples for the show in the nearby Staples Center were moved to Los Angeles. The recordings for the samples are released on DVD This Is It.

Course

The tour should start on 13 July 2009 at the O2 Arena London and stay there for 49 more concerts. Jackson's manager said that Michael was in great shape and very looking forward to the concerts. But doctors and Michael Jackson himself doubted that he could get through 50 concerts. The tour was canceled due to Jackson's death.

Show

The show should start with the fact that a large statue consisting comes from many small screens, with a ball on the hand on the stage. Then the ball is floating around the statue and flies through the audience. At the end of the intro, the ball flying to the hand of the statue again. In the meantime eventful videos are played on the small screen. This will open the statue and Michael Jackson pops out. On his character, the show begins with Wanna Be Startin ' Somethin'
