Thobias Fredriksson

Thobias Fredriksson ( born April 4, 1975 in Gunnersnäs ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier.

The first International race denied Thobias Fredriksson back in 1993, when he participated in the World Youth Championship. At 18, he won the bronze medal over 10 km at the time in classic style. In the 1995/1996 season, the Swede took part for the first time at a World Cup, but could not keep up with the elite. Only two years later, he drew attention to himself with 13th place in the sprint. Thobias Fredriksson put his focus on the sprint and drove this one with great success. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003, he took in the Val di Fiemme the title in the sprint, 2005, he won the bronze medal in Oberstdorf. In the season 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 Fredriksson also dominated the sprint overall rankings, 2005/2006, he was in this second rating. Another great success from Sweden is winning the gold medal at the 2006 Olympics in Turin. Together with Björn Lind Thobias Fredriksson was unbeatable in the team sprint in. The individual sprint he finished in third place here. Due to quarrels that Thobias Fredriksson separated in 2007 by the Swedish Association and trained since then in a private team.

His brother Mathias is also a successful cross-country skier.
