Thomas C. Ripley

Thomas C. Ripley ( born January 2, 1807 in Schaghticoke (New York), date of death unknown) was an American lawyer and politician. He represented in the years 1846 and 1847 the New York State in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thomas C. Ripley was born about five years before the outbreak of the British - American War in Schaghticoke in Rensselaer County. He received a limited education. Then he studied law. After receiving his license to practice law, he began to practice Falls in Harts. He worked as a farmer. Politically he belonged to the Whig party. On December 7, 1846, he was in a by-election in the twelfth electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, there to fill the vacancy that was created by the death of Richard P. Herrick. Since 1846, he did not compete in the regular congressional elections of the year, he retired after March 3, 1847 from the Congress. His death date and place are unknown.
