Thomas Chakiath

Thomas Chakiath ( born September 10, 1937 in Karukutty ) is an Indian priest and auxiliary bishop of Ernakulam- Angamaly.

Life

The Archbishop of Ernakulam, Joseph Parecattil, ordained him a priest on 1 December 1964 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Ernakulam. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 19 January 1998 Titular Bishop of Uzippari and Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam- Angamaly.

The Apostolic Administrator of Ernakulam- Angamaly, Varkey Vithayathil, C.Ss.R., consecrated him on 14 April of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Joseph Powathil, Archbishop of Changanacherry, and Jacob Manathodath, Bishop of Palghat.
