Life
Thomas Gibson - Carmichael was born in 1859 as the son of Pastor William Henry Gibson Carmichael. A study at St John's College, Cambridge, he graduated in 1884 with a Master from. As a Liberal politician, he drew from 1895-1900 in parliament.
1908 Carmichael was appointed governor of Victoria; He took office on July 27. On 3 December the same year he let dissolve Parliament after the Prime Minister Thomas Bent distrust was pronounced. From the following elections later showed John Murray as the winner.
On May 29, 1911 Carmichael left Melbourne and became Governor of Madras. The following year he was appointed Governor of Bengal.
In 1917 he left India. Carmichael died on 16 January 1926 in London.
