Thomas Krag

Peter Thomas Krag ( born July 28, 1868 in Kragerø, Telemark, † March 13, 1913 in Kristiania ) was a Norwegian writer of the New Romanticism.

Life

Krag was the son of the politician Peter Rasmus Krag and the older brother of Vilhelm Krag. He attended the Cathedral School in Kristiansand and lived for several years after graduating from high school in Copenhagen. From there he traveled to Hamburg, Berlin, Paris and Italy. In 1901 he married Iben Nielsen. The literary scholar Erik Krag was the son of Nielsen and Krag.

Krags first book was the novel Jon Graeff, which appeared in 1891 and was translated into German in 1906. In his works, mystical elements as well as the nature and folklore of southern Norway play a major role.
