Thomas Savundaranayagam

Thomas Savundaranayagam ( born July 22, 1938 in Kayts, Sri Lanka) is the Bishop of Jaffna.

Life

Thomas Savundaranayagam received on 21 December 1963, and was ordained priest incardinated in the clergy of the diocese of Jaffna.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 24 January 1981 for the Bishop of Mannar. The Bishop of Jaffna, Jacob Bastiampillai Deogupillai, donated to him on July 30th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Nicholas Marcus Fernando, Archbishop of Colombo, and Frank Marcus Fernando, Bishop of Chilaw.

On July 6, 1992, he was appointed Bishop of Jaffna.
