Thomas Søndergård

Thomas Søndergård (born 4 October 1969 in Holstebro, Denmark ) is a Danish conductor.

Life

Søndergård studied from 1989 to 1992 percussion and timpani at the Danish Academy of Music and at the Music Academy of Freiburg and was at that time a member of the EUYO. After graduating, he became a member of Det Kongelige Kapel. From the age of 27 years he devoted himself increasingly to the baton.

From 2009 to 2012, he was chief conductor of Kringkastingsorkestret ( CORK ) of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. In December 2009 he first conducted the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and has since July 2011 with him a permanent contract. He also denies since 2012 as a guest conductor three annual productions at the Royal Scottish National Orchestra,
