Thomas Stoltzer

Thomas Stoltzer (* 1480-1485 in Schweidnitz; † August 29, 1526 in Buda ) was a German composer.

Life

From 1519 Stoltzer is attested as Vicar in Breslau. He worked from 1522 at the Buda court of the Hungarian king Ludwig II as magister capellae and educators of the Boys' Choir. Before he could move to Königsberg, where he Duke Albrecht of Prussia had called, he probably died after the Battle of Mohács against the Turks at Buda.
