Thomas Ulmer

Thomas Ulmer ( born July 25, 1956 in Karlsruhe ) is a MEP for the CDU Baden -Württemberg in the European People's Party.

Ulmer studied from 1976 to 1982 for the Promotion medicine in Heidelberg, Mannheim and Freiburg. From 1986 to 1988 Ulmer graduated from the training of specialists in general medicine, and developments in the fields of sports medicine, occupational medicine, radiation protection and emergency medicine. Opened in 1986, Ulmer a general medical practice.

Political career

Since 1984, Ulm is a town councilor in Mosbach. Since 2002 he has been Chairman of the CDU. In the same year he was also a member of the District of Neckar -Odenwald -Kreis. This office he held until 1994. After five years of absence Ulmer sitting since 1999 in the district council. In the Volksbank eG in Mosbach he has been Deputy Chairman since 1998. In 1990, Ulmer, the Office of the Deputy Chairman of the CDU district Neckar- Odenwald-Kreis. He was a member of the district board CDU Nordbaden, a year later health spokesman of the CDU Nordbaden 1999. In the European Parliament is Ulmer member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, Substitute for the Committee on Regional Development, Member of the Delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula, as well as Vice Chairman of the Delegation for relations with Switzerland, Iceland and Norway and to the Joint Parliamentary Committee European Economic Area (EEA).
