Thomas Zereske

Thomas Zereske ( May 22nd, 1966 in Neubrandenburg, † June 28, 2004 ) was a German canoeist and trainer.

Career

Zereske was qualified sports teacher by profession and a member of the club SC Neubrandenburg. He was 1988-2000 four -time Olympian, where he as a substitute driver could not start in 1992, after he succumbed to a start in the one - Canadians Olaf Heukrodt in the jump. During this time he also won nine World Championships ten medals, including 1997 and 1998 two world titles. In the two - Canadians, he was from 1997 very successful with Christian Gille, the 2004 Olympic champion in this discipline at the Olympic Games in Athens.
