Thread-locking fluid

Thread locker is a special paint that is applied to a screw to complicate an independent loosening of the screw.

Thread locker is available as a curing paint which reached a high strength after evaporation of the solvent. There are also variants that remain in a very viscous, tacky state. There are also variants that achieve a rubbery consistency after curing.

Choosing the right screw locking varnish depends on the application. Fixed types of coatings are particularly suitable for threaded fasteners that are exposed after installation no great varying mechanical loads and vibrations. Screw connections, which are often subject to vibration and changing mechanical loads should be treated with less firmly curing variants because these are less brittle and not flake.
