Three Knights Opening

In the Three Knights Game is an opening of the chess game. It is one of the open-ended play and often develops from the King Knight game.

The basic position of the triple jumper game is often achieved with the following features:

1 e2- e4 e7 - e5 2 Sg1 -f3 Sb8 - c6 3 Nb1 - c3

You can, however, also result from diverter from the Vienna Game. In today's tournament practice the triple jumper game is rather rare, its heyday in the 19th century.

The main variants of the triple jumper game include:

• 3 ... g7- g6 (after 4 d2 -d4 e5xd4 5 Sf3xd4 Bf8 - g7 6 Sd4xc6 b7xc6 distributed opportunities )
• 3 ... Bf8 - c5? is answered with the sham sacrifice 4 Sf3xe5, because after Sc6xe5 you win with the farmer fork 5 d2 -d4 back the sacrificed character. 4 ... Lc5xf2 takes white though the right to castle, but 5 Ke1xf2 Sc6xe5 6 d2 -d4 gives him the excess weight in the center.
• 3 ... Bf8 - b4 avoids the apparent victim, but invites to 4 Nc3 -d5.
• 3 ... Ng8 - f6 ( with transition into the Four Knights )
