Three Men on the Bummel

Three men on tour ride (Original Title: Three Men on the spree, publication title for North America: Three Men on Wheels ) is a humorous story of the British writer Jerome K. Jerome, which was published in 1900 in Great Britain and was published in 1905 in German translation. The book is the sequel to the successful novel Three Men in a Boat.

The story is set in the late Victorian era. Main characters are, as already mentioned in " Three Men in a Boat", the " J. " I - narrator and his friends George and Harris. J. and Harris are now married. In order to recover from the rigors of (married) everyday, take the three main characters, a longer -term cycle tour through Germany. The book tells both of the preparations as well as the bike itself travel via Hamburg, Hanover, Berlin and Dresden in the Black Forest.

Jerome used to turn an associative narrative style. The bike and the preparations for this are only the frame story, are embedded in the numerous anecdotes, some of which have only to do away with the actual company. Focus of the stories are cycling and observations in Germany.
