Thubten Jigme Norbu

Thubten Jigme Norbu, recognized as Taktser Rinpoche ( Taktser; born August 16, 1922 in Taktser, † September 5, 2008 in Indiana ) was a Tibetan lama, writer, civil rights activist and professor of Tibetan studies. Thupten Jigme Norbu, the eldest brother of the fourteenth Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatsho, was one of the first high-level Tibetans in exile and co-founder of the International Tibet Independence Movement.
