Thunderbolt (Kennywood)

Thunderbolt in Kennywood (West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, USA) is a wooden roller coaster, which opened in 1924 as Pippin. The Pippin was originally designed by John A. Miller. Between 1967 and 1968, the Pippin by Andy Vettel / Kennywood has been greatly expanded and opened on March 27, 1968 as the new Thunderbolt.

The lift hill is not like most other roller coasters at the beginning of the ride, but is located along the route.

Thunderbolt has three trains from the manufacturer National Amusement Devices Company with four cars. In each carriage six people ( three rows of two person) take place.
