Ticha Penicheiro

Patrícia Nunes Penicheiro ( born September 18, 1974 in Figueira da Foz, Portugal) is a professional basketball player. She currently plays for the Sacramento Monarchs in the Women's National Basketball Association as a point guard.

Career

College

Ticha Penicheiro played for the women's basketball team of Old Dominion University. In 1998, she won the Wade Trophy.

WNBA

Penicheiro was selected by the Sacramento Monarchs in total as the second player in WNBA Draft 1998. She plays for the 1998 season for the Monarchs and was chosen team to the WNBA All-Star four times until now. In addition, she holds the WNBA record with 16 assists and 10 steals in a game. Penicheiro was elected in 1999 to the WNBA First Team and in 2001 WNBA Second Team. In the 2005 season they could win for the first time with the Monarchs WNBA championship.
