Tico Torres
Tico Torres ( born October 7, 1953 in New York City, USA as Hector Samuel Juan Torres ) is an American musician and painter. Since 1984 he is the drummer of the rock band Bon Jovi.
Tico Torres was born in New York, the son of Cuban immigrants, but grew up in Iselin in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Because of his heritage, he is bilingual and speaks fluent Spanish in addition to English.
After school he started an apprenticeship as a carpenter. However, this was quickly abandoned in favor of music. Before becoming a band member Bon Jovi, Torres was already a successful ( studio ) musicians and worked with, among others, Chuck Berry, Miles Davis, Cher or Pat Benatar. Overall, he has worked on 26 albums before he became a member of Bon Jovi.
Since 1984, Tico Torres, drummer for the band Bon Jovi and thus belongs to the regular cast of the band. The contact came over the former bassist of Bon Jovi, Alec John Such, with the Torres was a friend. Although most of the songs the band of Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are written, Tico Torres has contributed through his drum and percussion arrangements significantly to the typical sound of the band and their style with embossed.
Tico Torres used usually a drum kit from Pearl Drums. On the 2013er " Because We Can " - Tour Tico plays a DW drum kit. Furthermore, he uses products from Paiste, Easton Ahead, Remo Powerstroke and Coated Emperors. Many parts of his drum kit, he has evolved over again, and so there are now at Pearl Drums or Easton Ahead own product lines that bear his name. Mid-80s also was "Drumming Essentials", a learning video for drummers, which explains Torres various percussion techniques and exercises.
Early 90s Tico Torres started painting and discovered the sculpture in itself. Here, the work differed significantly from painting attempts by other musicians and actors. Stylistically, remember many of his pieces to the German expressionists. First exhibitions in New York and Miami in 1994/95 were great successes. Today, Torres is a renowned contemporary painter and sculptor, whose works achieve prices around $ 12,000.
Inspired by the contact with children of friends and acquaintances, Tico Torres began to design a children's styles, a few years ago. He wanted to create individual fashion for babies and toddlers that significantly differs from the usual range in color and cut. First drafts of bodysuits and t-shirts were so successful and the demand so great that Torres 2005 his own children's fashion collection called Rock Star Baby (RSB ) brought out. In addition to children's clothes, he developed here under the same label its own silver jewelry collection and children's furniture. At the furniture fair in Cologne in January 2006 his furniture collection was nominated for an award.

Tico Torres privacy is married for the third time. His first marriage with Sharon Torres was divorced in 1985. In 1995, he became engaged to the Czech model Eva Herzigová, on September 7, 1996 was the wedding in Sea Bright, NJ, in which the band members Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora were groomsmen. The marriage ended in divorce in 1999. On September 24, 2001 married Tico Torres Maria Alejandra Marquez, their son Hector Alexander was born on 10 January 2004.
