Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve

The Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve (English Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve ) is a nature reserve in the Australian Capital Territory, south-west of the Australian capital Canberra. It is 54.5 km ², directly bordering the Namadgi National Park and consists of a wide valley, the Tidbinbilla Mountain and the Gibraltar hills. The slopes at the edges of the valley are steep and relatively untouched.

Tidbinbilla is a corruption of the Aboriginal word jedbinbilla; the term means " where the boys become men ." Among the most important archaeological sites in the reserve Birriagi - rock roof with the oldest so far discovered traces of settlement Aboriginal heard in the area of the Australian Capital Territory. Immediately on the edge of the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, which is part of the Deep Space Network NASA.
