The Indonesian city ( Kota ) of Tidore Islands ( Indonesian Tidore Kepulauan ) is administratively directly under the province of North Maluku.

Geography

The administrative unit of the city consists of the island of Tidore and part of the west coast of the island of Halmahera. Seat of government is the place Soasio.

The island of Tidore is divided into four districts ( Kecamatan ). To the northwest lies Nordtidore ( Tidore Utara ) to the barrier island Maitara. The Northeast is Osttidore ( Tidore Timur ). In the southeast, the district Tidore is the government seat of the administrative district Soasio. To Südtidore ( Tidore Selatan ) in the south part of the island of Mare.
