Tiefwarensee Ice Age Trail

The Ice Age Trail Tiefwarensee runs once around the Tiefwarensee on the northeastern outskirts of Waren (Müritz) in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg. The ten- kilometer hiking trail can be circumnavigated on foot or by bicycle. It is part of the Geopark D8 Mecklenburg Ice Age landscape.

Object of the trail

The Müritz and Tiefwarensee and the entire Mecklenburg Lake District have been shaped by the last ice age. As in a model region whose various stages can be observed here. "With the Geopark project we want this geological heritage more than ever to the public and make them usable for regional tourism development ," it says on the website of the Geopark Mecklenburg Ice Age landscape.
