TiG7

The TiG7 is a private theater in Mannheim.

Since the renovation of an urban camp in the backyard of the square G7 in 1989 the TiG7 is a venue for independent theater with about 80 seats and about 150 game days a year. The nonprofit organization Theatre separates eV carries the house and consists of about 60 members who participate as actors, directors, set designers, but also at the checkout counter or behind the stage. The TiG7 cooperates with the National Theatre of Mannheim during the International Schiller Festival 2001, 2003 and 2005, and at night the poets in the studio framed building.

The program includes current and contemporary pieces such as push up 1-3 by Roland Schimmelpfennig (2006 ), sandpit (DSE ) by Michael Walczak (2006) or bad that you are the way you are by Christophe Allwright (2006). In 2003, the Schiller- in -Off Festival of Independent Theatre was presented. In 2005, the format was further developed; the festival took its venues under the direction of TiG7 throughout the city.

2004 presented the TiG7 Mannheim's first English-language theater festival Here and Now! A Theatre Festival. This is supplemented by its own formats, various readings, the late-night trash series with Jörg Buttgereit and improvisational theater and cabaret.

2005 TiG7 for production sandbox was (directed by Alexander Schilling ) awarded the Stuttgart Theatre Prize both the Audience Award and the Jury Award for Best Production. 2006 TiG7 was included in the institutional support professional Kleintheater the State of Baden -Wuerttemberg.
