Tim Balme
Timothy " Tim " Balme (born 1967 ) is a New Zealand actor and screenwriter. Already with his first starring role as Lionel Cosgrove in Peter Jackson's splatter -film satire Braindead 1992 he became internationally known.
Life
Balme 1992 received the lead role in Peter Jackson's Brain Dead, which made him famous overnight, especially among horror movie fans. Then he took a role in the television series Shortland Street. Since 2005, Balme wrote screenplays for individual episodes of various New Zealand television series. In addition to his work as a film and television actor Balme plays theater. For his portrayal of James K Baxter's piece Horseplay he received in 2010 at the NZ Herald Best of Theatre Awards award Best of Theatre 2010.
Timothy Balme is co-founder of the production company South Pacific Pictures.
Balme is married to actress and director Katie Wolfe, with whom he has two children, a daughter (* 2001) and a son (* 2006). From a previous relationship he has another son (* 1987).
