Tim Clark (airline executive)

Sir Timothy Charles Clark, KBE, is the current president of Emirates Airline and Chairman of the Emirates Foundation. By 2008, he was Managing Director of Sri Lankan Airlines. Clark studied economics at the University of London and is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Life

Tim Clark's career in civil aviation began in 1972 as an employee of British Caledonian Airways. In 1975 he moved to Bahrain to Gulf Air and 1985, according to Dubai as part of the founding team of Emirates. From 1998 to 2008 he was Managing Director of Sri Lankan Airlines, after Emirates signed a contract with the Government of Sri Lanka, which the Gulf airline had transferred 40 % of the shares. Clark has also chairs the nonprofit Emirates Foundation, which advocates for the interests of children in the world. The aerospace magazine Aviation Week & Space Technology appointed Clark to the Person of the Year 2013.
