Tim Gerresheim

Timothäus " Tim " Gerresheim ( born February 24, 1939 in Berlin ) is a former German fencer who has been successful with the foil.

Tim Gerresheim was the son of Otto Gerresheim fencing master, who had come in 1951 from Berlin to Hamburg and was established in 1954 Hamburg Fechtclub Rothbaum. 1959 Tim won the German Cup for the first time Gerresheim with the foil, the same year he took second place at the Junior World Championship. In the adult class he was defeated by the German team at the World Fencing Championships 1959 in Budapest only in the final against the Soviet team. The following year, he retired at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome in the individual competition in the third round. With the team he reached the quarter-final against France. Tim Gerresheim is qualified sports teacher and fencing master. He runs with his wife own fencing school in Hamburg and makes nearby at several drama schools training young performers in scenic fencing.
