Tim Kane

Timothy J. " Tim " Kane ( born April 28, 1968 in Lansing ) is a retired American officer of the United States Air Force (Lieutenant Colonel), economist and journalist. He is chief economist at the Hudson Institute.

Life

Kane studied from 1986 to 1990 Economics and Political Science at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs (Bachelor, 1990); the last rank was Lieutenant Colonel. He was, inter alia, Intelligence officer in Japan and South Korea. From 1998 to 2000 he was the founding director of the software company enonymous.com. His Ph.D. in economics he made in 2001 at the University of California, San Diego.

In 2002, the Republicans ran unsuccessfully for the House of Representatives of the United States. He was director at the Center for International Trade and Economics at the conservative Heritage Foundation in Washington and was chief editor of the Index of Economic Freedom (2007 ) of the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation. From 2004 to 2008, the economist for the United States Congress Joint Economic Committee worked. In 2011 he was quoted several times in the Economic Report of the President. Kane is currently chief economist at the conservative Hudson Institute, Croton-on -Hudson, New York. He also writes, inter alia, for The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today and The Atlantic. He joined, among others Bloomberg, PBS and CNBC.
