Tim O'Brien (author)

Tim O'Brien ( born October 1, 1946 in Austin, Minnesota) is an American author who writes particularly about his experiences in the Vietnam War and the impact that the war had on the fighting American soldiers. Tim O'Brien teaches at Texas State University - San Marcos for the Texas State University MFA project, which aims to promote creative writing.

2013 he was awarded the Pritzker Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing.
