Tim Wieskötter

Tim Wieskötter ( born March 12, 1979 in Emsdetten, Kreis Steinfurt ) is a German canoeist. He is a multiple world champion in the double kayak and was the 2004 Athens Olympic champion.

Career

Wieskötter began in 1990 with the Canoeing at the CC Emsdetten and launched at the beginning of his international career for KG food. After he came to Potsdam in 1998 it belongs since 2004 to the KC Potsdam. Since 1999, he participated in the double kayak with Ronald Rough successfully at various major international competitions. They took 2000 to 2012 at four Summer Olympics in part. In addition to her Olympic victory in 2004 over 500 m in 2008, they won the silver and the bronze medal in 2000; Occupied in 2012 K4 1000 m the 4th Place. After they were unbeaten in all international championships between 2001 and 2008, but they were subject at the Olympic Games in 2008 by nine hundredths of a second the Spaniards Saúl Craviotto and Carlos Perez and took the silver medal. On January 30, 2014 he announced his retirement from competitive sports. On the same day he was elected to the board of the Friends of KC Potsdam.
