Timbrality

As a multitimbral is called an electronic musical instrument (eg, a keyboard), which is able to produce several different sounds at the same time and to be issued against one another mixed (for example an organ sound simultaneously with a string sound ).

In contrast to the polyphony is therefore not only possible to produce two different notes, but also two different tones. The term is composed of multi- timbral (lat. much) and timbre (French timbre ).
