Timesaver

A Time Saver is a strategy game based on a simple model railroad layout.

History

The first Timesaver 1966 designed and built by John Whitby Allen. The simple model railway set Allen in the American magazine Model Railroader in 1972 for the first time to the public. The original layout was donated in Chattanooga the NMRA ( National Model Railroad Association ) Howell Day Museum, a twin copy went to the downtown San Diego Model Railroad Museum. This " Shunting Puzzles" ( German " shunting puzzle " ) have been implemented already to DOS times on the PC and are still playable online in 2011.

Game

A locomotive and a different number of wagons to be placed on the Rangiergeleisen and have now come on the sidings and the turnouts at a pre-determined result. One part can be used to determine the winner by the least number of shunting movements or the time that is needed for maneuvering for the execution of the task is measured.
