Timor Air is an airline based in East Timor.

History

Already in 2002 founded a native of East Timor Australian businessman Jeremiah Desousa together with the East Timorese government, the airline East Timor Air ( ICAO code: ETA ). But it was only on 27 November 2008, the airline now officially taken as Timor Air in operation. But then completed the partner SkyAirWorld its operation, which is why there was a delay again. Flight operations finally launched on 25 July 2011 with the route Dili - Darwin. Return flight took place once during the week. In May 2012, Timor Air ceased the sale of tickets and air travel. The company had too few passengers. However, there are still negotiating new partnerships.

Aircraft and employees

Initially the plan was to lease an Embraer with 94 seats for twelve months from the Australian company SkyAirWorld from Brisbane, which is registered in Australia. The pilots should be provided by SkyAirWorld available.
