Tina Bøttzau

Tina Nielsen Bøttzau ( born August 29, 1971 in Kolding, Denmark ) is a former Danish handball player.

Career

Bøttzau started playing handball with six years in Stenderup. Between 1990 and 1995, the left-hander played in the Danish first division club IK Skovbakken. Then she signed a contract with the league rivals GOG. After two seasons the backcourt player returned to Skovbakken where she had to end her career due to injury after the 2000/ 01 season. She then became a teacher.

Bøttzau played 120 matches for the Danish women's handball national team, in which they scored 247 hits. With Denmark, she won the World Cup in 1997 and the European Championships in 1996. Moreover, she won with Denmark at the Olympic Games in 1996 and 2000, the gold medal.
