Tine 2.0
Tine 2.0 is a free software which groupware and Customer Relationship Management ( CRM) combines. It is released under version 3 of the GNU Affero General Public License ( AGPL ).
Tine 2.0 is platform independent and implemented as Service Oriented Architecture ( SOA). It consists mainly of the following parts:
- The server component, this acts as a data source, and is implemented in PHP. To save the data, it uses a SQL database.
History
The development of Tine 2.0 began with various problems in EGroupware project. Initial discussions were held in March 2007, where some developers wanted to improve the quality and delivery of eGroupWare. This discussion was conducted under the keyword eGroupWare 2.0. In July 2007, the first design was published studies in which a new user interface should be created. The new concepts were described in detail in November 2007. The idea behind the discussion at that time was still to improve the code base of eGroupWare. Unfortunately, not all developers accepted the proposed amendments. The main problem was the compatibility with previous versions.
After the name problem was solved, Tine 2.0 moved into the eGroupWare SVN repository. At this time, the main objective was still in it to try out new technologies for new eGroupWare versions.
Since the proposed amendments were not included in the eGroupWare project, seceded from the Tine 2.0 eGroupWare project.
The two main developers of Tine 2.0 decided to continue Tine 2.0 as an independent project. Tine 2.0 is from the code base a completely new development, but based on the experience from the eGroupWare project. The name is an acronym for Tine 2.0 This is not eGroupWare (This is not eGroupWare ). This is to symbolize that Tine 2.0 no release of eGroupWare, but an independent new development.
