Tinto de verano

As Tinto de verano [ tinto de weɾano ] (Spanish summer wine, literally " dark -colored in the summer " by verano = summer) in Spain is a mixture of red wine and Gaseosa ( lemonade ) and are one of the summer wines.

Tinto de verano is often drunk at meals. Red wine and Gaseosa will be served in bottles, so that the child feeding can mix the drink of your preference in restaurants. There are ice cubes. The term summer red wine comes from the fact that the drink is especially refreshing on hot days and easier to digest than undiluted red wine.

Particularly in tourist areas you will find " Tinto de Verano " often as a pre mix in the supermarket. Usually it is sold there, similar to the famous Sangria in 1.5 - liter bottles. However, this is often provided with sweeteners, which gives the drink an unnatural and excessive sweetness.
