Titus Tatius

Titus Tatius is a legendary figure of the early Roman period. As with almost all the people and events of the Roman monarchy is practically impossible to determine whether the tradition goes back to a core of truth.

According to the ( much later ) eliminate ancient sources Titus Tatius was king of the Sabines, and besieged by the Rape of the Sabines the Capitol, took it by treachery of Tarpeia ( Tarpejischer rock ), and there was then shared with Romulus on Rome, until he in Lavinium was murdered by Laurentinern. His grave was erected on the Aventine.
