Tlikakila River

Tlikakila River in Lake Clark National Park

The Tlikakila River is a 80 km long river in southwestern Alaska.

He springs from Summit Lake at Lake Clark Pass, flows in a valley between the Neacola and Chigmit Mountains southwest and empties into Lake Clark. The river is fed by glaciers as the Tanaina and the Double Glacier. It is located in the Lake Clark Wilderness, a wilderness area within the Lake Clark National Park.

On the opposite, north-eastern side of Lake Clark Pass arises from the Big River, which flows into the Redoubt Bay of Cook Inlets. In the southeast, the neighboring valley of the lower reaches of the Chokotonk River, which also flows into the Lake Clark flows.

The name is derived from the name of the Athabascan Tanaina for the river.

The Tlikakila River in 1980 reported by the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act as a National Wild and Scenic River under the administration of the National Park Service.
