Polonia Bytom ( Towarzystwo Miłośników Hokeja Polonia Bytom, German: Society of Friends of hockey ) is a Polish ice hockey team from Bytom, which was founded in 1946. The sports club of the same name belonging Hockey department plays in the 2012/13 season in the league, I second-rate.
History
The Hockey Department of Polonia Bytom was founded in 1946. The team was especially the mid- 1980s and early 1990s, the strongest Playoff Final teams, as Polonia six times won the Polish championship in eight years. At the European level Polonia Bytom was able to convince and reached in the 1984/85 season the final tournament in ice hockey European Cup, defeated in this but in all four games. In the aftermath Polonia Bytom could no longer continue our success and increased in the 2008 /09 season from the second class I league, in which it competes ever since.
In addition to the name of the sports club, the hockey team to the sponsor Bisset, a Swiss watch brand carries in the title.
