Toad River

BW

The Toad River ( English for " Toad River ") is a right tributary of the Liard River in northern British Columbia.

The Toad River was named after the numerous large toads, which were observed at the beginning of the 19th century on its banks of the fur traders.

John McLeod of the Hudson's Bay Company traveled up the river in 1831 and described the found toads.

The natives called the river " Tsal - eh- Chesi ".

River

The Toad River flows predominantly in the north and northeast. He flows through the Muncho Lake Provincial Park, and finally empties into the Liard River. The Liard River is a tributary of the Mackenzie River, which flows into the Arctic Ocean.
