Tobias Billström

Tobias Lennart Billström (* 27 December 1973 in Malmö) is a Swedish politician of the Moderate samlingspartiet (Eng. The Moderates ) and since 6 October 2006 Minister of asylum and migration issues in the government of Fredrik Reinfeldt.

Curriculum vitae

Tobias Lennart Billström was born in 1973 in the southern Swedish city of Malmo. In 2000, he received his bachelor's degree in history, political science, modern international history as well as Eastern and Central European Studies at the University of Lund. In 2002, he earned a master's degree in history at Lund University and the Master of Philosophy in History, University of Cambridge.

From 1993 to 1998 Billström member of the local board of Moderata was ungdomsförbundet, samlingspartiet the Youth Party of Moderata. From 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the municipal council of Malmö and Vice - Chairman of the Education Committee in Malmö. In 2001, he was also political editor of the Nordvästra Skåne Tidningar. He was elected to the Swedish Parliament in 2002, where he was among other things to 2006 Member of the Committee on Social Questions. From 2005 to 2006 Billström was also a member of the Board of migration authority.

According to the Alliance for Sweden 2006 elections and the election victory was appointed Tobias Billström from the new Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Minister for asylum and migration issues.
