Toghrul Asgarov

Togrul Asgarow ( born September 17, 1992) is an Azerbaijani wrestler. He became in 2010 Vice World Champion in free style bantamweight and in 2012 Olympic champion in the featherweight

Career

Togrul Asgarow began as a teenager in 2002 with the rings. He focuses on the free style and belongs to the Sports Club Nefchi Baku. His coach is there Elchin Zainalow. He is a student and is 18 years old still at the beginning of his career, in which he was, especially at junior level, already extremely successful. At a size of 1.71 meters, he started bantamweight, the weight category up to 55 kg of body weight, but is likely to grow due to its size soon in the featherweight.

In the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 respectively Togrul Asgarow was European champion in free style in the weight classes up to 46 kg, 54 kg and 55 kg ( bantamweight ) of body weight in the different age groups of juniors. In 2010 he was in Budapest also also junior vice-world champion bantamweight, where he lost in the final against Vladimir Chintschegaschwili from Georgia, whom he had defeated at the Junior European Championships in 2010, with 1:2 6:6 in round technical points.

His first start in an international championship was at the 2010 World Cup in Moscow. He fought there in the bantamweight title with victories over Henry Moki N'Dive Molua, Cameroon, Naranbaatar Bayaraa, Mongolia, Ryswan Hadschyjeu, Belarus and Yasuhiro Inaba, Japan to the finals, where he but lost to Viktor Lebedev from Russia. As a 18- jährier and Vice World Champion, he proved so again express his extraordinary talent.

At the European Championship 2011 in Dortmund Togrul Asgarow senior featherweight and had there but once again learns the hard way there he lost his first fight against the experienced Ukrainian Vasyl Fedoryschyn. Since this did not reach the final, he left and came only to 14th place.

In July 2011 he became World Junior Featherweight Champion and in March 2012 in Belgrade, European champion in the seniors, where he beat in the final in Bucharest Anatoli Guidea from Bulgaria. To the previous high point in his career, then the 2012 Olympics were in London, where the 20 -year-old with victories over Tim Schleicher, Germany, Kenichi Yumoto, Japan, Coleman Lewis Scott, United States and the four -time world champion and bronze medalist of the 2008 Olympic Games Besik Kuduchow Russian Olympic champion.
