Tokyo Metro Namboku Line

The Namboku Line (Japanese南北 线, Namboku - sen) is a subway line of the Tōkyō Metro. The name of the route means South-North Line because it runs from Meguro Station in the south about 17 intermediate stations to Akabane - Iwabuchi station in the north. The color of the Namboku Line on maps is emerald green. Your stations carry the letter N followed by a number. The Namboku line was planned as line 7, therefore, is their official, infrequently used name Line 7 Namboku line (7号 线 南北 线, 7 - Goshen Namboku - sen).

The trains of the Namboku Line are operated with the Meguro line of Tōkyū and after Akabane Iwabuchi with the Saitama Kosoku tetsudō from Meguro together.

History

The 21.3 km long route is one of the newer of Tōkyō Metro, which is equipped with advanced technology. The train and the platform doors are fully automatic. Although the line was planned as early as 1968, the construction did not begin before the 1980s, partly due to the route of the Mita line. The first section of Komagome station to station Akabane Iwabuchi was opened on 29 November 1991.

At the beginning drove on the line EMUs with four cars. After the enlargement to the station Yotsuya in March 1996, the trains were extended to six cars. All stations are able to accommodate trains with up to eight cars, but so far this length is not used.

The extension to Tameike - Sanno Station was completed in September 1997 and the final expansion of Tameike - Sanno to Meguro on September 26, 2000. Route and stations between Shirokane - Takanawa and Meguro be with Mita Line from the office of the Tokyo prefecture ( Toei ) divided. In the agreement, most beneficial to the passenger ( " the most favorable for the passenger " ) between Tōkyō Metro and Tokyo Prefecture, the fare of this section has been set.

Through traffic to Saitama Kosoku tetsudō began with their opening in March 2001 and was available for the trip to and from the Saitama Stadium during the football World Cup in 2002. There are plans to eventually extend this operation on the Noda Line of Tōbu tetsudō to Utsunomiya Line.
