Tom Jones (writer)
Tom Jones ( born February 17, 1928 in Littlefield, Texas) is an American musical lyricist. He was an author of books on musicals such as The Fantasticks and I Do! I Do! known.
Life
Jones was born in 1928 in Littlefield, Texas, the son of William T., an employee of a hatchery, and Jessie Jones. Jones met at the University of Texas at Austin, the musical composer Harvey Schmidt. Schmidt started for Jones to accompany drama students on the piano. A short time later, the two began writing musicals. The first published piece was a revue.
Jones ' most important work is the 1960-2002 total of 17,162 times Off-Broadway musical The Fantasticks listed. In 1992, Jones for The Fantasticks a Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre Award.
